Welcome to Harrison County Arts!

Harrison County Arts! (HCA!) is a coordinating council that represents and promotes artists of all disciplines and artistic programs. Our scope includes arts education, community awareness, identification and mapping of local artists and the development of infrastructure which complements existing art entities.

 

We opened the Artisan Center on September 2nd, 2011.  We are located in Historic Downtown Corydon at:

Julius Friedman - Current Works: May 24 - June 16, 2013

Julius Friedman is a graphic designer, photographer, artist and owner of the design firm Images, specializing in cultural, nonprofit and corporate design.  He co-owns Chapman Friedman Gallery in Louisville, which represents contemporary regional, national and international artists.

 

Friedman's works are included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York City; the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; the National Museum of Poster Art, Warsaw, Poland; and the Dansk Plakamuseum, Aarhous, Denmark.  He has lectured extensively throughout the country, including at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC.
This exhibit will feature selections from Friedman's ballet and nature works printed on raw aluminum.

After School Arts Program (asAP!) Suessical production group photo.  Harrison County Arts & Hayswood Theatre collaborated on an intensive theater workshop for Harrison County students.  This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Harrison County Community foundation.

Hayswood Theatre: Rumors

Hayswood Theatre presents the Neil Simon farce Rumors. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 10 - 26.  Friday & Saturday shows are at 8:00.  Sunday shows are at 2:00.  Tickets are on sale now at the Blaine Wiseman Visitor Center (812) 738-2138.  Adults $14 Seniors (65+) and Students (17 & <) $12.
